Mr Franco Ciulli is one of the UK's leading consultant cardiothoracic surgeons. He is based in Bristol and operates both at the Spire Hospital Bristol and the Bristol Heart Institute. He has performed over 5000 open heart procedures since being appointed as a consultant almost 30 years ago. Mr Ciulli has extensive experience in a vast range of adult cardiac conditions. He is an expert in minimally invasive cardiac surgery, coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), beating heart surgery (OPCAB) and aortic valve surgery (AVR). He also has a specialist interest in arrhythmia surgery for Atrial Fibrillation  and mitral valve repair (MVR).

One of Mr Ciulli's main interests is coronary artery bypass surgery which amounts to 75% of his workload. This is mostly performed with an 'off-pump' or beating heart  technique that Mr Ciulli helped develop at the  Bristol Heart Institute. Mr Ciulli uses the latest techniques for mitral valve repair. He has vast experience in performing high risk and complex cases that have had had an over 98% survival rate after open-heart surgery. Mr Ciulli acquired much of his knowledge at prestigious centres across the globe in France, Italy, the UK and Australia.

Mr Ciulli is the head of cardiac surgery at the renowned Bristol Heart Institute. He is one of the most senior surgeons in the UK. After completing his medical degree, he undertook further training in cardiovascular surgery at the University of Verona in Italy. Mr Ciulli started working as a cardiothoracic registrar on the Glasgow rotation and the heart and lung transplant registrar at Papworth Hospital in 1990.

He later also undertook a transplant fellowship at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney and was entered onto the GMC specialist register for thoracic and cardiac surgery in 1996. Mr Ciulli's first consultant position was in Sheffield in 1995. He went on to lead the team there that  performed the first heart-lung transplant and double lung transplant in 1997. Mr Ciulli also carried out the first minimally invasive mitral valve replacement in 1997 at the northern general hospital in Sheffield.

Since 1999 Mr Ciulli has worked as a consultant cardiothoracic surgeon at Bristol Heart Institute, which is part of the University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. Mr Ciulli has held positions of clinical director, clinical governance lead, and is the clinical lead for the adult cardiac surgery unit. Mr Ciulli has been vital in helping bring modern mitral valve repair techniques to the Spire Hospital Bristol and Bristol Heart Institute. Mr Ciulli is an active researcher and has had work published in various peer-reviewed journals as well as the reputable textbook, Moghissi's Essentials of Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery, also coedited by Mr Ciulli.

Mr Franco Ciulli recently appeared in the film Deep in the Heart, a documentary that follows four patients for several months as they undergo life-saving surgery at the Bristol Heart Institute. Dr Taylor has led the Buckinghamshire Hospitals NHS Trust lung cancer service and was Chairman of the Thames Valley Cancer Network lung cancer group until 2012. He was also Director of the respiratory department of Wycombe and Stoke Mandeville Hospitals until 2012. He was appointed Associate Medical Director and Chairman of Division of Integrated Medicine of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust until 2015. Dr Taylor is now leads the asthma, COPD, cough and non-invasive ventilation (NIV) services for Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.
 
Dr Taylor´s other pulmonology and respiratory medicine specialities include lung cancer, interstitial lung disease, sarcoidosis, pneumonia, bronchiectasis, obstructive sleep apnoea and pleural effusion.

Dr Taylor's qualifications reflect his impressive career achievements. He has a BSc and MD from the University of London, an MBBS from St. Mary's Hospital and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London. Mr Chellappah Gnanachandran (Mr Gnana) is a leading laparoscopic surgeon and a consultant gynaecologist, as well as an honorary lecturer, based in Northampton, UK. He serves as the gynaecology lead and the lead for gynaecology rapid access care - cancer pathway and fertility surgeries.

He scans all his gynaecology patients himself, and has a particular interest in gynaecology scans and minimally invasive surgeries including endometriosis and fibroids. He is one of the few gynaecologists who has a trained degree in scanning. Mr Gnanachandran assembled a team for caring for patients with deep infiltrative endometriosis and is the lead for the centre for deep infiltrative endometriosis at Northampton.

He currently sees private patients at BMI Three Shires Hospital and Northampton General Hospital. He provides a range of treatments for patients with gynaecology conditions including fibroids, ovarian cysts, and endometriosis.

Mr Gnanachandran specialises particularly in gynaecology scanning and has advanced knowledge in ovarian cyst pathology and endometrial assessment. He also treats young women for early indications of cancer and conditions affecting fertility. Part of his responsibility as a consultant gynaecologist is to help patients avoid unnecessary interventions and allow them to access appropriate early surgery if necessary.

He often carries out ultrasound scans and laparoscopic surgery for patients with subfertility, endometriosis, fibroids and early gynaecology malignancies.

Mr Gnanachandran has given training and lectures nationally on scanning for endometrium, fibroid and IOTA scanning for ovarian cysts.

Mr Gnanachandran graduated from the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka in 2002 before joining the NHS training programme in 2004. In 2005, he began his training in obstetrics and gynaecology and started working in several hospitals throughout Wales and the West Midlands.

Mr Gnanachandran gained a master of science in gynaecology ultrasound at the University of Derby.

In 2016 he was appointed as a consultant at Northampton General Hospital to develop fertility services

He is the current lead for gynaecology rapid access care service which provides tall patients with suspected gynaecological cancers are seen within 2weeks time from referrals.

He completed training in several different aspects of gynaecology including 

1) Ultrasound scan for the pelvic and transvaginal scan.

2) Laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgeries for benign gynaecological conditions such as fibroids, adenomyosis, and endometriosis

3) Surgery for patients with infertility including hysteroscopic resection of fibroid, polyps and uterine septum

4) Colposcopy and treatment of cervical precancers

5) Gynaecology oncology referrals and early gynaecology cancers such as endometrial cancer early stage.  All cancer patients will need to go through MDT.
